Time keeps on flying

Hey gang! What's this you say, Count Westwest with two posts in nearly a week?! We can hardly believe it ourselves, but the go-getting, tireless self-promoters we are, we thought we'd share some information with you. First off, the show that we played in Allston with the Aborigines was reviewed in the most recent copy of The Noise. You can read it by clicking here:

www.thenoise-boston.com/live_reviews/256.asp

By the by, you should definitely check out the Aborigines if you have the chance. Not only are they a swell bunch of fellows, but they rock. Hard.

Speaking of rocking, Count Westwest has booked a date to do just that at the Brass Cat in Easthampton on January 7 in what will then be the year 2006. Performing with us will be a local group called Hymns. Somehow Count Westwest has managed to go quite a long time without playing in the Noho-Easthamp. area, and we're glad to do it at the good ol' Cat. We will be armed with a bevy of new songs as well as old favorites.

Speaking of old favorites, Count Westwest does eventually plan on having a number of those (about 18) available in physical form in exchange for some dollar bills. Recording has been going well lately (read: more swiftly) and we hope to finally have an album out very soon.

Well, that's about all for now. With all this activity lately, we should be updating this a tad more frequently. We hope to see you soon!

Where have we been?

Not in front of the computer, that's where. Hi. This is Count Westwest speaking. We are sorry to anyone that has come to this website expecting helpful information on what we are up to. Here's a brief update:
Count Westwest has been hard at work, writing and practicing new songs. Also, we have been plugging away at some 4-track recording any chance we get. And, much to our delight, we played our first out of town show at O'Brien's Pub in Allston, MA. We have certainly been keeping busy.
We have no shows to announce, but, we will keep you posted- we promise.
Perhaps the more word-savy CWw member will come up with a more in-depth post about the most recent goings-on.
For now, have a nice fall time.

No news is some news

Hello.

The summer time has been pretty quiet for Count Westwest. Vacations and work have hindered us a bit, but we have some new songs in the works, and hopefully a local show or two by summer's end.
One definite show we can tell you about now is on saturday, August 26th at King's Tavern in Saratoga Springs, NY. We are looking forward to our first, "real" out-of-town show. We have heard fantastic things about the venue from our friends, the Mitchells. It should be a lot of fun, and be sure we'll tell you all about it in this here blog.
Check back for any show updates we may have!
Also, if you'd like to be on our mailing list to receive emails announcing show dates, write us at count_westwest@yahoo.com and then you will be, as they say, "in the know".
Back to watching baseball,

Opening Day!!

Howdy to you all.
Count Westwest will be playing a show during our beloved RED SOX first game of the 2005 season. That is, this Sunday, April 3rd, at Flywheel in Easthampton. The show begins at around 8:00 p.m. with local band, Atomica, then, CWw, followed by Viva Voce, who are from OR.
We are really looking forward to seeing these bands, and to playing ourselves.
Will someone tape the game for us?
